There are times that you get confused about digital terminology. Let us give you insight into the world of digital.
DNS:
DNS stands for Domain Name Server. All websites have an IP address, which is a series of numbers.
It's easier to recall names, therefore a name is assigned to the IP address, which is known as its
‘Domain Name'. Your DNS serves the name, so when you look at a website, it has a name rather than a
number in its URL.
Traffic Acquisition:
The process of attracting visitors often referred to as traffic to websites, mobile apps and
other digital assets.
URL or Uniform Resource Locator:
The unique address of a page or piece of digital content on the Internet.
Index:
A searchable catalogue of web pages and digital content used by a search engine to provide relevant
results.
Crawler or Spider:
A program designed to systematically browse content on the Internet and collect information about
it to help searchers find what they’re looking for.
